Cards Against Humanity with a Twist
My friend Sarah came over last night so we could watch the
One Direction movie, This Is Us, which came out last year. She still hadn't
seen it! Not only that, but we decided to play Cards Against Humanity.
It's a card game that requires four people or more if you really want to get
the laughs going.
With only the two of us, we took a little advice from our
favorite YouTubers! Hannah Hart (feat. Jenna Marbles) and Connor Franta (feat. Tyler Oakley) dubbed a new, two person version of this game:
Charades Against Humanity.
I think this might be better than the original intention of the game. I couldn't decide whether it was more fun to act out or guess crazy ridiculous things! We took cues from the YouTubers such as "overall concept", "sounds like", and other charade gestures. It really helped that we had both seen the videos, so we knew what the other was aiming for.
My experience with the normal way of playing CAH is somewhat
limited. I've only played it once, BUT my friends and I went through the entire
box and had a grand ole time. With some of the more questionable cards in
there, the 17+ age rating is very accurate and should tell teenagers it'd be an
uncomfortable game to play with parents or family. Stick with Apples to Apples for Friday game night.
Speaking of Apples, that's what led me to buy this
outrageous card game in the first place! A group of my friends and I have a
certain affinity to word/card games. Usually it's Catch Phrase or Apples
to Apples- in which we've gone through most of the cards- so I wanted something
new.
CAH has limitless possibilities. You can obviously play the game over and over and still find hilarious new word combinations. But not only can you go rogue with the rules, they also make extension packs (1, 2, 3, 4). That's so many more pairings, cards, ways to step it up! Put them all in their own huge box and you'll have a six pack from laughing every time you play.
Seriously, though, try it out! It's worth the $25- I suggest you purchase from Amazon. If you don't own Cards
Against Humanity, try out charades with Apples to Apples, print out the cards for free, or make your own!
