The Summer Summary

While the sun is still shining and the weekends are free and easy, it's no longer summer for me! Despite what the weather says, the start of school says different. My senior year started August 11th. I don't know what's more shocking- that I'm actually a senior or that we started two weeks into August! What happened to after Labor Day? There's nothing I can do about it now, although the end of summer was bittersweet.

It was a summer to remember! This year I took a new path for adventures and goals. Normally, I spend the dreaming of summer picnics and what I'm going to accomplish each day. That never happens. The bucket lists get thrown away in the back of old notebooks or found at the end of summer as I clean out my school work from the year before. All I see is what I didn't do.

Instead, I compiled all my summer activities into a list AFTER I did them. This idea was so much more enjoyable. You can see all the things that didn't make it on to your summer bucket list and look back on all the memories! 
I definitely encourage everyone and anyone to try this out for any holiday, break, or vacation.

  • went to lunch, shopping, and Starbucks with McKenna
  • got a tennis lesson from Libby
  • crafted a framed black dry erase and cork board

  • got a new bed and comforter

New Year, Same Me

Quick throwback to 3 years ago when I started this blog! And … back to the present. People always have lots to say when this new beginning rolls around. A chance to start fresh, be productive, and to reinvent your image. I say, scrap it. The world seems to be in agreement that 2016 was the closest we’ve been to hell on earth. However, life is just a continuation. Unless you’re one of those cute, little babies with a January 1, 2017 birthday, nothing much has really changed. Here's to more blurry pictures and good times  For as many people read this blog, this post is as much to hold myself accountable as to give advice to the world from my point of you. Cards Against Humanity with a Twist

My friend Sarah came over last night so we could watch the One Direction movie, This Is Us, which came out last year. She still hadn't seen it! Not only that, but we decided to play Cards Against Humanity . It's a card game that requires four people or more if you really want to get the laughs going.     With only the two of us, we took a little advice from our favorite YouTubers! Hannah Hart (feat. Jenna Marbles) and  Connor Franta (feat. Tyler Oakley) dubbed a new, two person version of this game: Charades Against Humanity. I think this might be better than the original intention of the game. I couldn't decide whether it was more fun to act out or guess crazy ridiculous things! We took cues from the YouTubers such as "overall concept", "sounds like", and other charade gestures.
