I have been waiting so long to wear this outfit! I picked it out the night before school was supposed to start up again for the new year but weather didn't want us to go. I ended up with an extra week of winter break due to snow days. I'm certainly not complaining though!        It wasn't as cold once we went back to school so I decided my cream socks were more appropriate to wear than my Hunter ones.   This is the necklace I wore to homecoming! It's quite the statement necklace so I sometimes have a difficult time pairing it with an everyday outfit. I typically wear it with solids to keep from having too much going on. The great thing about wearing it with the collared shirt is that some of chunkiness was covered up. I'm glad that I've found other things to wear it with since this combination of pearls and rhinestones is too fun and pretty to just leave sitting around!     I got my Hunter boots this year and they are a G...

I wore this outfit to my boyfriend's basketball game and then we had a Harry Potter movie marathon after. It was our three month anniversary, so I wanted to look cute, but since we didn't do anything special it's also a very casual outfit. The sweater was oversized and had a champagne/grey color with a lace trim around the bottom to add a girly touch. I borrowed the vest from my sister's closet (thanks Mallory!) for some color, although it wasn't too bright. It also kept me pretty warm! I liked this vest because it goes along with the trend, but it's one that no one will have.  Another thing is the inside is a super cute floral pattern! There is a hood that attaches on and also a fur edging that can be attached to that. The removability of those pieces make it very versatile to fit your outfit with any degree of cold weather.  These boots were given to me by my aunt since she only wore them once! They're a little different from the classic rid...

J.Crew Navy Checked Button-down

Image
My shirt from J.Crew came in the mail today! I tried this on at the J.Crew Factory store, but they didn't have my size (small). Clearly that meant it was a popular item. It felt like such a staple piece to add to my closet, so I had to have it. The navy checked color can almost look black, making it quite a neutral piece. It's a thinner, less bulky button down than others that I've tried on so it's perfect to wear with layers, such as a comfy sweater in winter. I plan to try that ootd soon since a little gingham is too cute to resist! A sweater will also help when pairing with jeans to reduce the "navy on navy" look and leggings to avoid the awkward "navy and black" confrontation. I'll post an outfit as soon as wear it! XOXO

Starbucks in Style

Image
A girl has got to have her caffeine but what to do when you're at home?  The Alice and Olivia ceramic coffee cup from Starbucks is practical but with so much style! I couldn't help but put this on my wish list and I'm so lucky to have received it for Christmas. It's a gorgeous black and white ceramic cup with a gold detailed rim and buttons set beneath the fashionable bow tie. My favourite part is definitely the too cute tutu! It adds a unique aspect to the cup that draws attention, but is also removable so as to not get in the way. The ceramic lid suctions into the top with rubber lining to reduce spills on your adorable outfit. I'm looking forward to bring this with me to have yummy caffĂ© mochas with friends and drinking tea in the peaceful moments.

Book Beauties: John Green (author)

Image
The Fault in Our Stars  is the newest to my collection of books! Having read it before, I was overjoyed to receive it on Christmas morning. It made a nice addition to my other John Green book, Looking For Alaska. He is an author I recommend to anyone and everyone, both teens and adults. While the subject matter may be a little more on the mature side there is no doubt in my mind that his words won't bring forth emotion. Luckily, for those who would rather a fictional world be created for them, The Fault in Our Stars  is coming to theatres in 2014! That is one of the many reasons I am so excited this new year is upon us. Nevertheless, I still highly suggest reading the masterpiece before you go see it.

New Year of 2014

Image
I had a great start to the new year with my boyfriend; first kiss at midnight and all. Better yet I decided to start a blog. Though I do have two tumblr blogs, this one will be more personalized. I've always wanted to share my fashion and experiences with others, so I took this fresh start as a chance! New Year's resolution (and the title of my blog) is to stay gold. A little cheesy I will admit, but coming from The Outsiders and Robert Frost poem, it's one of my favourites. Taking on its own meaning in my eyes, I hope that I will put forth my best effort this year and accomplish all that I aim to. It's especially important with college just around the corner! Wish me luck! XOXO
