Just Me Living Life

I have about ten other blogs posts I could/should write today, but I'm writing this one instead! I've had the day to myself as my sister has gone back to college (sad about it) and my parents are at a tailgate. It's been nice, let me tell you. This is the first day I've gotten to sleep in in three weeks since school started. As for being by myself, I don't mind that at all. I love the company of friends and family, but "me time" is seriously important. I pretty much spend my summers this way. Everyone had jobs and I was unfortunately unemployed. As much as I would have loved to earn some extra cash I looked at this past summer as my last free summer. Next year, I'll be free of the constricting days of high school dance practice and open to the world of marking down "available anytime" on potential job applications. So, I spent my morning sleeping in and checking up on all social media apps. There's tumblr, Facebook, Instagram, ema...

The Summer Summary

Image
Fall Out Boy concert at Verizon Wireless Ampitheater While the sun is still shining and the weekends are free and easy, it's no longer summer for me! Despite what the weather says, the start of school says different. My senior year started August 11 th . I don't know what's more shocking- that I'm actually a senior or that we started two weeks into August! What happened to after Labor Day? There's nothing I can do about it now, although the end of summer was bittersweet. End of Little Girl Camp picnic   It was a summer to remember! This year I took a new path for adventures and goals. Normally, I spend the dreaming of summer picnics and what I'm going to accomplish each day. That never happens. The bucket lists get thrown away in the back of old notebooks or found at the end of summer as I clean out my school work from the year before. All I see is what I didn't do. Fourth of July Instead, I compiled all my summer activities into a list A...

{Day Six} 6 Days of Denim

Image
And here's the last outfit- and last pair of pants!   //Top (old)- Forever 21//Boyfriend jeans (light destroy)- American Eagle //Sandals (old)- American Eagle//Necklace (old)- American Eagle//Bracelet- Virgin Islands   These light wash, destroyed boyfriend jeans are by far my favorite out of all six pieces of denim. I got them in my regular pant size (compare to the darker wash that I went a size down in) so they're super baggy and comfy.   My sandals really tied in the jewelry and shirt for laid back look.   I like to think of this as a garden party outfit- it must be the floral top! The three "stripes" are lace for a peekaboo of some skin. Also, the low/high effect between the front and back is one of my favorite features!   I kept the jewelry in one metal tone to simplify the look with such a busy printed shirt. The light and dark silver contrast compliment the parallel of the black and white print of the shirt. ...

{Day Five} 6 Days of Denim

These light wash midi shorts are the first I've owned in that length. It was interesting to see what they would go with. I chose this floral tank top for some femininity to go along with the boyish style of shorts.   //Tank top- Lush @ Nordstrom Rack//Shorts- American Eagle//Shoes (old)- Madden Girl//Bracelet- J.Crew Factory//Pearl earrings- H&M//   These shoes have a tiny heel, so they're great to wear at school when you want a little height, but still need to be able to walk the halls all day. I don't know why the denim looks so weird in close up photos-maybe it's just on my computer. Sorry!   The destroyed denim makes its fourth appearance! An obvious theme in this series.   This is my go-to bracelet for the summer! The pink and gold combo is so me and goes with a wide variety of color/outfit combinations.   I love the sunny days!   LOL! It looks like I was trying to be a model again-and failing. Not the cl...

{Day Four} 6 Days of Denim

Another casual summer outfit! This one is great to take to outdoor concerts. The sparkly heart detail requires no need for jewelry or accessories that could get in the way of having fun.   //Shirt- Marta's (local boutique)//Black tank top- Target //Shorts- American Eagle //Shoes- Converse //   White converse are my favorite tennis shoes to wear with an outfit. They add the perfect amount of hipster-ness, while also allowing fun and easy walking/running.   These shorts look very similar to the last pair, except these are shorter, but with a higher waist. Of course, I couldn't miss out on another piece of denim with rips in it~   Pretending to be a model!   The black tank top isn't the most eye-pleasing look, but it was definitely necessary with the open sides/arm holes of the tank top.     The rose gold metallic pieces of the heart let the girly side shine through a rather "tomboy" look. The outfit really lets ...

{Day Three} 6 Days of Denim

The third outfit of the series is perfect for lunch on hot day. It's cute and a decorative tank and shorts will help keep you cool!   //Tank top (old)- American Eagle//Shorts- American Eagle //Sandals- Jack Rogers //Sunnies- Forever 21, DIY//Necklace (old)- Forever 21//   These shorts are the perfect length. They're also the only pair I bought without any rips in them!   The blush pink "lace knit" tank is a perfect pair with these shorts! The color keeps it neutral while the design has all the flair.   I got my first pair of Jack Rogers sandals this summer! I could write a whole post on just these shoes, but I've contained my love for now. The platinum color is one of the best for a first pair- it goes with almost everything.   A close up of my sunnies! I love the nod to 50's sunglasses with the slight cat eye shape. Also, I added the flowers on myself (DIY!!). While they're not my most often worn pair of sunglasses, the...

{Day Two} 6 Days of Demin

Image
This second outfit is more boho inspired with the loose embroidered shirt. The red and black details with the tassels totally make it!   //Shirt- Forever 21//Boyfriend jeans (medium destroyed)- American Eagle //Sandals (old)- American Eagle//Pearl earrings- H&M//   I'd say this was one of my overall favorites because, while still looking dressed up casual, it was such a comfy outfit. These boyfriend jeans won't do you justice until you own a pair.   The sandals really tied the whole outfit together. Normally, I wouldn't pair these slightly gladiator-type sandals with denim that cropped so low, but they worked perfectly with this combo!   Enjoying the summer sun!   Again, I'm in love with destroyed denim!

{Day One} 6 Days of Denim

//T-Shirt: New York souvenir shop//Crop jeans: American Eagle Outfitters//Shoes: Keds//Hat: J.Crew Factory//Necklace: Zara//Purse: borrowed from my sister//     Here's the first pair of denim bottoms that I bought! I was really wanting a pair of ripped up, destroyed jeans, so I knew these were a must!   I paired them with the classic New York souvenir and a black and gold statement necklace to jazz it all up. This was my first time wearing the sun hat and it totally saved me while the sun was beating down.     Having some photo shoot fun!   This necklace is so fun to wear. It's neutral tones can easily go with an every day t-shirt, as well as a dress or other formal wear for fancier occasions.   Bringing the style back to home with my favorite white tennies! Keds are so comfy and easy to wear.   This outfit incorporate lots of my favorite staple pieces, with the ripped cropped jeans being the cen...
