1/16/14 Ootd

Clearly it's not January anymore! But that is when I wore this outfit. I've been a little behind on the blogging front lately as the ideas are piling up and I have nowhere to put them but a list for a rainy day. Bad news- school always comes first. Good news- I didn't have that much homework tonight!


 This is one of my favorite "preppy" outfits that I've worn! Personally, I feel that pink and navy is a staple color combination to fit that categorization. It's also cute and an outfit (compared to just throwing some clothes on), but doesn't require the extra prep time that feels necessary with a dress or curly hair!



This is my friend Libby! Not the best picture of either of us, but she needs a cameo on my blog since a) we were in fashions together at the time and b) she has often taken pictures for me that I put on here! Kisses :) xoxo


 
Here's a closer shot of just the outfit and my lovely phone case! One detail I really love about layering a button down with a sweater is the ability to roll the sleeves. The sweater sleeves were about 3/4 length compared to the full length ones of the navy gingham button down. Thank you to The College Prepster whose post and pictures here where quite helpful in perfecting this technique. I also love how the navy checks can peak out from the pink!

The button down is the shirt I ordered from J.Crew a while back. As I predicted, it was a good fit to layer with the thinner sweater so that the buttons didn't show through.

New Year, Same Me

Quick throwback to 3 years ago when I started this blog! And … back to the present. People always have lots to say when this new beginning rolls around. A chance to start fresh, be productive, and to reinvent your image. I say, scrap it. The world seems to be in agreement that 2016 was the closest we’ve been to hell on earth. However, life is just a continuation. Unless you’re one of those cute, little babies with a January 1, 2017 birthday, nothing much has really changed. Cards Against Humanity with a Twist

My friend Sarah came over last night so we could watch the One Direction movie, This Is Us, which came out last year. She still hadn't seen it! Not only that, but we decided to play Cards Against Humanity . It's a card game that requires four people or more if you really want to get the laughs going.     With only the two of us, we took a little advice from our favorite YouTubers! Hannah Hart (feat. Jenna Marbles) and  Connor Franta (feat. Tyler Oakley) dubbed a new, two person version of this game: Charades Against Humanity. I think this might be better than the original intention of the game. I couldn't decide whether it was more fun to act out or guess crazy ridiculous things! We took cues from the YouTubers such as "overall concept", "sounds like", and other charade gestures.
